Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks recipe that gives you that crispy, cheesy goodness without all the oil!

▪️12 mozzarella string cheese sticks (cut in half if desired)

▪️1/2 cup all-purpose flour

▪️3 large eggs

▪️1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

▪️1tsp garlic powder

▪️1tsp onion powder

▪️1/2 tsp dried oregano

▪️1/4 tsp paprika (optional)

▪️Salt and pepper to taste

▪️Cooking spray

Prep the mozzarella sticks: If using whole mozzarella sticks, cut them in half to create shorter sticks.

Set up breading station:

In a shallow bowl, add the flour and season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

In another bowl, beat the eggs.

In a third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, paprika, and a pinch of salt.

Bread the mozzarella sticks:

Roll each mozzarella stick in the flour to coat, shaking off the excess.

Dip it into the beaten eggs, then roll it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to make sure it’s fully coated.

For extra crunch, repeat the egg and breadcrumb steps for a double coating.

Freeze: Place the breaded mozzarella sticks on a tray and freeze them for at least 30 minutes. This helps the cheese stay intact during cooking.

Air fry:

Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).

Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray, then arrange the frozen mozzarella sticks in a single layer (make sure they aren’t overlapping).

Air fry for about 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.

Serve: Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce!
