Health benefit of owning a cat

Cats are among the pets that do not have a home without a cat. Many people love to raise cats, despite what many studies have indicated that there are health damages to raising cats in homes.

1- Activate muscles and bones

Cats meow at frequencies between 20 and 140 Hz, frequencies that have healing effects. It is known that bones heal perfectly at frequencies of 25 and 50 Hz, as well as 100 and 200 Hz. The same applies to muscles and ligaments, specifically inflamed and swollen.

2- Improve cardiovascular health

. A study at the University of Minnesota in the United States proved that cat owners are 30% less likely to develop heart disease, angina pectoris, and sudden heart attacks.

3- Strengthen the immune system

Owning cats improves social communication, reduces the risk of depression, and of course makes you laugh and smile more than those who do not own a cat, which helps improve immunity. And if you’re unhappy, cats feel it, come to comfort you, and play with you to relieve your sadness.

4- Avoid respiratory diseases and allergies

This point in particular may seem one of the hardest to believe, due to the spread of many statements about respiratory and chest diseases caused by cats, but a study published in a scientific journal on chest diseases and allergies proved that children who were raised with cats, are less likely to suffer from asthma and bronchitis.

In addition, children who spend a large part of their childhood caring for pets are better able to empathize and show positive feelings towards others.

5- Reduce stress and insomnia

Has your cat petted you before? Did she come to you to rest a little on your chest? Or your leg touched her little body? All of this and more can help you relax and feel a little calm, and if you are alone and unattached, it will inevitably make you feel some peace in your life.

Owning a cat requires allocating time for it, such as playing with it and taking it for a little walk, this helps break the daily routine, and get rid of the stresses of life. Missouri State University in America also conducted an experiment on some children with autism and their families who own cats, in which it found that the low level of social interaction in these children improves significantly when there are pets in general around them, and cats in particular.

Therefore, a mother whose son suffers from autism should not keep pets away from him to protect him, but rather enhance their presence and communication with them, which makes the improvement of his condition possible.
