These are fun, no-bake desserts that mimic the look of a cracked earth surface. Here’s a popular recipe for an Earthquake Cake:

1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box) 1/2 cup chopped pecans 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut 8 oz cream cheese, softened 1/2 cup butter, melted 4 cups powdered sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Instructions Prepare the Oven and Pan:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish. Layer the Bottom:

Evenly spread the chopped pecans and shredded coconut on the bottom of the baking dish. Make the Cake Batter:

Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the instructions on the box. Pour the prepared cake batter over the pecans and coconut in the baking dish. Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a large bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and melted butter until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined and smooth.

Layer the Cream Cheese Mixture: Spoon the cream cheese mixture over the cake batter. Do not mix it in; just dollop it on top. Add Chocolate Chips: Sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly over the top.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the center is set and the edges are slightly golden. Note: The cake will have a cracked, “earthquake” appearance on top. Cool and Serve: Allow the cake to cool completely before slicing and serving. Enjoy your delicious Earthquake Cake!
