Old-fashioned tuna macaroni salad is a classic, creamy dish that's perfect for potlucks, picnics, or a simple family meal. Here's a traditional recipe:

### **Ingredients** 

- 2 cups elbow macaroni (cooked and cooled) 

- 2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained 

- 1 cup mayonnaise 

- 1/2 cup celery, finely chopped 

- 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped 

- 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish (optional) 

- 1/2 teaspoon salt 

- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 

- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard (or Dijon) 

- 2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped (optional) 

- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (for garnish) 

- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional) 

### **Instructions** 

1. **Cook the macaroni**: Boil according to package instructions, drain, and rinse with cold water. Let it cool completely. 

2. **Mix ingredients**: In a large bowl, combine the tuna, mayonnaise, celery, red onion, pickle relish, mustard, salt, and pepper. Stir well. 

3. **Add pasta and eggs**: Fold in the cooled macaroni and chopped hard-boiled eggs. Mix until evenly coated. 

4. **Chill**: Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld. 

5. **Garnish and serve**: Sprinkle with paprika and parsley before serving.
