Air Fryer Pizza Subs
Ingredients:
4 hot dog buns or mini sub rolls
½ cup pizza sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella
16–20 slices pepperoni
¼ cup chopped bell peppers or onions (optional)
1 tsp olive oil (for brushing)
Instructions
1. Prep the Buns:
Cut the buns lengthwise, but don’t slice them all the way through. Brush the inside lightly with olive oil to help them crisp in the air fryer.
2. Add the Sauce:
Spoon pizza sauce inside each bun, spreading it evenly.
3. Add Your Toppings:
Scatter mozzarella over the sauce. Arrange pepperoni slices on top and add any extras like onions or peppers.
4. Preheat the Air Fryer:
Heat the air fryer to 180°C (356°F) for about 2 minutes.
5. Cook the Subs:
Place the filled buns in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them. Cook for 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese melts, bubbles, and the buns turn lightly golden.
6. Serve:
Take them out carefully, let them cool for a moment, and serve warm. They pair great with marinara or ranch for dipping.
Tips:
Brush the buns with garlic butter for extra flavor.
Swap pepperoni for ham, sausage, mushrooms, or your favorite toppings.
Avoid stuffing the buns too much—this keeps them from getting soggy.
