Cinnamon cake is a delightful dessert that incorporates the warm, comforting flavor of cinnamon into a moist and fluffy cake. Here’s a simple recipe to make a delicious cinnamon cake:

Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened 1 cup granulated sugar 2 large eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 3/4 cup buttermilk or plain yogurt For the cinnamon sugar topping: 1/4 cup granulated sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon


Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until well combined. Stir in the vanilla extract. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk or yogurt, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly. In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for the topping.

Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the top of the cake batter. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, slice and serve the cinnamon cake on its own or with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
