There are a few methods to tenderize steak, but one effective and simple method involves using a meat mallet or a marinade.

Here’s a recipe using a marinade to tenderize steak: Ingredients: 1 to 1.5 pounds of steak (such as ribeye, sirloin, or flank steak) 1/4 cup soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce 2 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey (optional) 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon dried herbs (such as thyme, rosemary, or oregano) (optional)

Instructions: In a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag, combine soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, brown sugar or honey (if using), black pepper, and dried herbs (if using). Mix well to combine. Place the steak in the marinade, ensuring it is well coated. If using a shallow dish, flip the steak to coat both sides. If using a plastic bag, seal the bag tightly, removing as much air as possible.

Marinate the steak in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour, or up to overnight. The longer you marinate, the more flavor the steak will absorb. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard any excess marinade.

Preheat your grill, skillet, or broiler to high heat. Cook the steak according to your preference (rare, medium-rare, medium, etc.), using your preferred cooking method. For most steaks, cook for about 3-5 minutes per side, depending on thickness and desired doneness. Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing against the grain and serving.

This marinade not only adds flavor to the steak but also helps tenderize it, making it more juicy and delicious. Enjoy your savory tenderized steak!
