Philly Cheesesteak Casserole:


1 pound of thinly sliced beef (such as ribeye or sirloin) 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 large onion, thinly sliced 1 large green bell pepper, thinly sliced 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Salt and pepper to taste 8 ounces provolone cheese, shredded or sliced 4 ounces cream cheese 1/4 cup beef broth 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)


Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or olive oil. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat.

Add the thinly sliced beef to the skillet and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms.

Cook until the vegetables are softened and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.

Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Remove from heat.

In a small saucepan, heat the cream cheese and beef broth over medium heat until the cream cheese is melted and the mixture is smooth, stirring constantly. Spread half of the beef and vegetable mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle half of the shredded or sliced provolone cheese over the top.

Repeat with the remaining beef mixture and provolone cheese. Pour the cream cheese and beef broth mixture evenly over the top of the casserole. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, for garnish. Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving.
